It's good

There’s many great reasons to hop on a bus for your journeys to and from the train station.

Here’s just a few:

 it's cheaper

You could save up to £170 a month by getting the bus to the train station (using a

PLUSBUS season ticket) instead of driving and parking at the station car park.

  Our research shows you how.

Driving is getting more expensive – petrol prices are at a record high, so are

insurance premiums and servicing costs. A recent survey by Green Flag identified that

car commuting costs have increased by 21% in the last 12 months. Travel by bus and

  avoid these expenses!

 it's easier

Sit back, relax - you can read a book, the newspaper, check your texts, emails or

safely make a mobile call on the bus.

Catching the bus is a third less stressful than driving in rush hour traffic.

A  study by Dr David Lewis from The University of Sussex found that car driving

produced significantly greater amounts of personal stress than taking the bus.

A survey in 2011 of bus users found that 83% of them were 'satisfied' with the

  overall service they obtained.

 it's healthier

Walking to and from the bus stop is good exercise and you get some fresh air too!

Recent research has found that taking the bus means we get half our recommended

30 minutes of moderate exercise each day. See the video for more information.

You avoid the hassle of trying to find a parking space at the station car park.

Bus travel is also eight times safer than travel by car. (DfT, Statistics 2010)

 it's greener

Cars cause 61% of Britain’s CO2 emissions from transport, buses cause just 5%.

(DECC 2011 UK Greenhouse gas emissions).

Britain’s bus operators are investing millions of pounds in fleets of comfortable, new

  low-emission and hybrid buses.

Every passenger on a bus takes one more car off our roads which reduces traffic

congestion, making all road travel easier and quicker.

Britain’s bus operators employ over 123,000 people – good for our economy too.

So "welcome aboard" the bus - it's good for everyone!
